Moya Ruiz Cigars 2020 “Reset”

Moya Ruiz LogoWe at MoyaRuiz Cigars are returning to our roots. Founded in 2013, we came on the scene with exciting limited releases that featured clever packaging and an innovative marketing approach. This, along with our core lines, made our brands a quick fan favorite in the boutique cigar industry.

So, we have streamlined our methodology and company, to fit that business model. Our goal is simple, give our consumers the best quality cigars possible.

During this “reset” the company has made some changes. We are proud to introduce our new company logo. The company has also moved its operation from New Jersey to Florida. Our first new release is a line extension of the La Jugada Habano, a beautiful 6 x 52 Semi-Pressed Toro. A genuinely exciting take on a great cigar. The blend features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with binders and fillers from Nicaragua. Our new box pressed has been patiently aging at the La Zona factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Normally our cigars age for six months but due to (COVID-19) these cigars have been aging for an entire year. We are very excited to start shipping by early this week. Along with the new line extension, we are proud to announce the planned re-release of 2015’s Chinese Finger Trap. The Chinese Finger Trap #2. These limited edition boxes will sold exclusively through Caravan Cigar Company in Bath, Pa. While details are still being finalized, it should be available in December 2020, and just in case you were wondering the blend remains an ancient Chinese secret. Lastly, we will continue to work with Erik Espinosa and make our cigars at his La Zona Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. We both agree that working with Erik and his team is one of the fundamental pieces of MoyaRuiz’s success. The La Zona factory and its master blender Hector Alfonso helped us find our signature flavor profiles and we are anxiously looking forward to the future.

We will continue to keep your updated on MoyaRuiz Cigars and our future endeavors.

Very Respectfully,
Danny Moya & Nelson Ruiz

Summer Sausage Limited Release Announced

Atlantic Cigar Company is excited to announce an exclusive summer release in collaboration with MoyaRuiz Cigars called The Summer Sausage. This limited summer release will come in three different blends but, feature the same vitola 6×52 Toro. These sausages will be named Habano (Hot) Maduro (Sweet) and the Breakfast Sausage (Connecticut) with binders and fillers from Nicaragua.

Rather than going with the traditional concept of one blend and different sizes on an exclusive release, we decided to create a project that would please all of our customers. We are giving our customers something fun and unique to smoke this summer during the holidays, barbecues, or just with that morning cup of coffee. The guys from MoyaRuiz were just the right fit to bring this project to fruition! All of the cigars were hand rolled in the La Zona factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. –Atlantic Cigar Company

We had a lot of fun turning the La Zona factory temporarily into a Carniceria to bring this release to Atlantic Cigar, and its customers, – MoyaRuiz cigars.

The Summer Sausage will be available online August 30th, 2019 thru AtlanticCigar.com and retail for $59.99 (10ct)

Smoke Inn announces the 13 th installment in their popular Microblend ™ Series!

Friday, January 25, 2019- Boynton Beach, Florida. Smoke Inn has collaborated with MoyaRuiz Cigars to introduce the 13 th installment of their popular Microblend ™ Series. For this unique collaboration Smoke Inn asked MoyaRuiz Cigars for something extremely creative and unique. Some of their popular limited releases have been off the wall and even controversial , who better to ask! Their answer was simple The Hand Gripper! Two cigars connected together in order to resemble an actual pair of forearm flexing hand grippers. Size of the cigar will be a 5 x 52 robusto featuring an Ecuadorian Habano oscuro wrapper with a binder and fillers from Nicaragua. Only 300 numbered boxes were produced in the La Zona factory in Esteli, Nicaragua containing 12 cigars or (6 pairs of hand grippers) at an MSRP of $99.00 per box. The Hand Gripper will be released at Smoke Inn’s annual mega cigar event, The Great Smoke www.thegreatsmoke.com February 16 th , which will be held at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, FL . Remaining boxes after the event will be available to the general public through their retail stores on February 18 th and will be available online, www.smokeinn.com at Noon EST.

Danny Moya of Moya Ruiz Cigars, commented “For us the concept was simple, let’s create something that’s never been done before. We are the only company that has a utility patent to be able to connect two cigars together so we came up with The Hand Gripper. As a small company to be a part of Smoke Inn’s Microblend™ Series is a dream come true. We are honored to join some of the great cigar companies that are part of this series. We couldn’t be more thankful to Abe and the entire Smoke Inn team for supporting us since day one.

Moya Ruiz Il Ridotto Ready to be Shipped to Retailers

MoyaRuiz Cigars Inc., creators of popular boutique brands such as La Jugada and The Rake, is pleased to announce their latest blend – IL RIDOTTO is ready to be shipped to retailers. The project announced last year continues in the vein of their prior game-themed releases, including poker and dominos, MoyaRuiz reaches further into history for IL RIDOTTO.

Translating to “The Private Room”, Il Ridotto is known as the West’s first public, legal casino. After failed attempts to bar citizens from gambling in the streets of Venice, the decision was made to open Il Ridotto in 1638 – taking up residence in a wing of Venice’s San Moisè Palace – a church, no less.

“Since both of our releases have to do with games, playing dominos and poker (and for money), we wanted to go back to the roots of gambling. That’s where the inspiration came from – to really tell the story of gambling, which Americans love so passionately.” said Danny Moya, co-proprietor of MoyaRuiz Cigars.

The IL RIDOTTO packaging showcases the required attire for casino guests – including three-cornered hats and masks – intended to cultivate a more noble environment. MoyaRuiz will debut the cigars in two sizes: Biribi and Basetta, two of the more popular games played at Il Ridotto.

Once again teaming with the La Zona factory in Estelí, MoyaRuiz showcases a Nicaraguan blend, wrapped in a premium Brazilian-grown Habano wrapper – offering a surprisingly luxurious profile, while retaining a very attractive price point.

Cigar Coop Reviews Dim Mak

Dim Mak – The Death Touch is the third limited edition cigar to be released by MoyaRuiz Cigars. The limited editions from MoyaRuiz have all had a common theme – they have been a tribute to the Cigar Dojo community. MoyaRuiz has attributed the Dojo community to much of its success it has had. As such, each of the limited edition cigars have had an Asian or Martial Arts theme. With the Dim Mak, MoyaRuiz has said that given the pending FDA regulations, this could very well be the last limited edition it releases. Recently I’ve had an opportunity to smoke the Dim Mak. If this is the last limited edition for MoyaRuiz, the company might have saved its best for last. This is an outstanding cigar and continues what has been a very strong 2016 for the company owned by Danny Moya and Nelson Ruiz.

Dim Mak refers to a mythical martial arts technique, which is said to cause delayed death due to a single blow by the hand (thus the name “The Death Touch”). It typically is used by grandmasters as a last resort when death becomes the only option. This theme has what MoyaRuiz calls a “not-so-subtle message to the FDA and their overbearing regulations.

Dim Mak has the most traditional look of the three limited edition releases. The first limited release was 2014’s La Jugada Nunchuck, for which the company received a patent. What is unique about this release is that it joins two cigars with a fuse similar to an actual Nunchuck. This was followed in 2015 by the,The Chinese Finger Trap – a somewhat controversial release incorporated the novelty game theme.

Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at MoyaRuiz’s Dim Mak- The Death Touch and see what this cigar brings to the table.
